NBA Trade Deadline Preview: 24 trade candidates and possible deals
By Shade Piper
Thon Maker, Milwaukee Bucks
Likeliness to get traded: 4/10
Thon Maker has been an interesting prospect since high school. Standing at 7-foot-1, with a smooth shooting stroke, Maker has potential to be the newest addition to the NBA’s “unicorn” category.
This is why the Bucks took a chance on him straight out of high school with the 10th overall pick in 2016. Maker hasn’t been able to earn much playing time since arriving in Milwaukee, however. After three seasons of little playing time Maker has become disgruntled and has reportedly asked for a trade. A lot of his value has been degraded over the past three seasons, but he is only 21 years old so somebody would surely take a chance on him.
Because his value is at a low right now, I don’t think the Bucks are in any hurry to trade him. The Bucks will probably try to work things out with him and continue developing him in Milwaukee.
Trade Idea: Nets send Joe Harris to the Bucks for Thon Maker, Donte DiVincenzo, and a second-round pick
