NBA Trade Deadline Preview: 24 trade candidates and possible deals
By Shade Piper
Kent Bazemore, Atlanta Hawks
Likeliness to get traded: 6/10
As mentioned above, it has been reported that Kent Bazemore is available for trade. I think he is a great asset and most of what I said about Prince applies here as well. There are a few minor differences though, with Bazemore you’re going to be getting a slightly better defender, but also he has a hefty contract which pays him $18 million this year and $19 million next year (assuming he opts into the final year of his contract).
Bazemore is also 29, so he is quite a bit older than Prince. The contract alone to me makes him a little less likely to be traded, but he would still bring some help defensively to a lot of teams, so I still think he has a chance of being traded to a contender.
Bazemore is an ideal wing player that would fit the mold for any team that is looking for more depth at the position.
Trade Idea: Rockets send Brandon Knight, Isaiah Hartenstein, and a second-round pick to the Hawks for Kent Bazemore
