Wayne Ellington, Miami Heat

Likeliness to get traded: 7/10

Wayne Ellington might not look like a guy who would have much value on the trade market if you were just looking at the stats. He’s not a guy who is going to go out there and average 15 points per game, but he is a sniper and can knock-down a few 3’s per game off the bench.

Shooting 3’s at a 37 percent clip, he is averaging six 3-point attempts per game and just one 2-point attempt per game. There aren’t many players in this league that shoots six times more threes per game and shots inside the arc. In other words, he knows his role and he sticks to it. If traded, Ellington would provide an immediate lift as a 3-point specialist to the team receiving him. He can provide scoring off the bench and can also be mixed in with the starters at times to provide a shooter for playmakers to kick out to and be trusted to knock down a three.

Basically, there aren’t a whole lot of teams that Ellington couldn’t fit into, and that makes him a coveted trade candidate.

Trade Idea: The Bucks send Thon Maker and Christian Wood to the Heat for Wayne Ellington
