NBA Trade Rumors Boston Celtics Terry Rozier (Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images) /

Terry Rozier, Boston Celtics

Likeliness to get traded: 5/10

Terry Rozier has often been in trade rumors after his breakout year last season. After Kyrie Irving went down, Rozier came out and showed that he can be a starting PG in this league and played especially well when it mattered the most in the playoffs.

A young team looking for their PG of the future, like the Suns, would be the perfect fit for him. He is in the final year of his deal and probably won’t resign with the Celtics if Kyrie returns, so it is all going to come down to Danny Ainge. Ainge has a big decision to make here. If he thinks Kyrie is going to resign he would be better off to get something out of Rozier before he leaves in free agency, but if Ainge trades Rozier and then Kyrie leaves, the Celtics would be left high and dry at the point guard position.

So what will Ainge do? Ainge is one of the smartest and most ruthless General Managers in the league, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he deals Rozier, but I think he will play it safe and keep Rozier with increasing suspicion that Kyrie will leave in free agency this summer.

Trade Idea: Suns send Dragon Bender, Richaun Holmes, and a second and first-round pick to the Celtics for Terry Rozier and Brad Wanamaker.
