Los Angeles Clippers

This was not the Los Angeles team everybody was talking about, but the Clippers may have positioned themselves to land the player that the Lakers are coveting.

Let’s face facts. When you have Jerry West as part of the front office good things will happen. West knows how to build teams, clear salary, and plan for the future.

Jerry West sent Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, and Mike Scott to Philadelphia for Landry Shamet, Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala, a 2020 first round pick, a 2021 first round pick, a 2021 second round pick, and a 2023 second round pick.

Oh, Jerry West was not done dealing. West sent guard, Avery Bradley, and his salary to Memphis for a couple of expiring contracts of Garrett Temple and JaMychal Green.

When it was all said and done for the Clippers they cleared nearly $59 million in salary and acquired a bevy of attractive draft picks that could be enticing to teams. The Los Angeles Clippers put themselves in play to go after the Anthony Davis. The Clippers could also go after another max contract player, like Kawhi Leonard. Imagine a Clipper team with AD, Kawhi Leonard, and another nearly max player.

The Clippers are saying that they are not interested in making the playoffs this season. Jerry West just put all of his chips into the center of the table. Lets see if the Clippers can cash in during the summer free agent period.
