Ray Allen, Guard (1996-2014)

Teams: Milwaukee Bucks, Seattle Supersonics, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat

Best career stat line: 25.1 points, 90% FT, 41% 3PT (2005-06)

It’s easy to forget but Ray Allen sacrificed tremendously upon being traded to the Boston Celtics. Unlike Reggie Miller, he was more than just a spot up shooter who came off screens.

During his time with the Bucks and Sonics, Ray would bring the ball up and didn’t play off the ball as often as fans saw in his Boston days. Depending on if the team that drafted him had any ball dominant players, Allen’s ballhandling could have received more recognition, in this social media day and age, and probably had more freedom to create off the dribble from the 3 point line, instead of only shooting them off of screens.

Allen was a great offensive player as is, but there’s no question that he would be thriving in the game today. Many forget that, in his prime, he had the ability to get a bucket himself.
