NBA: 10 biggest storylines to follow in the post-All-Star break push
Can the Kings hold break through in the West?
At the NBA All-Star break, the Sacramento Kings stand one game back of the Clippers for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Assuming that the Clippers will eventually fall out of the top 8 – and you’d expect that to happen, especially after they traded away Tobias Harris at the trade deadline – there will be one playoff spot for the Kings and Lakers (hey, just like the good old times) to battle for.
Trading for Harrison Barnes at the deadline, it was clear that the Kings are all-in on making a real push for the playoffs this season. And so far, they’ve looked every bit the part. However, it is likely going to be difficult for the Kings to hold off LeBron and the Lakers.
If they were to do so, it would take a massive effort in the last two months of the season. Either way, it’s going to be extremely fun to watch it all unfold.
