NBA: 5 non-All-Stars having underrated seasons in 2018-19
By Tobi Altizer
Buddy Hield, Sacramento Kings
Buddy Hield is another player who is having a great season but isn’t being talked about. Like Julius Randle, he has seen his minutes increase, and like Randle, he has increased his scoring to a career best.
Buddy Hield is averaging 20.5 points on 47.5 percent shooting this season. After coming off the bench much of last year, Hield has found himself back in the starting lineup and has thrived. He has been efficient from the field and has been extremely deadly from deep.
Hield is shooting 44.9% from 3 this season. That ranks fourth in the league. The three players ahead of him are Davis Bertans, Seth Curry and Joe Harris. None of those guys play as large a role as Buddy Hield does.
Buddy Hield is leading the Kings in scoring and he complements his team perfectly. He looks to be on his way to being an All-Star in years to come.
After a prolific college career at Oklahoma, Hield struggled his first few seasons in the NBA. The past three seasons he has seemed to find his footing, especially this year. Hield is becoming a great scorer that is one of the best shooters in the league.
The Kings look primed for a playoff berth this season. Buddy Hield has played a major role in that. If Hield can continue to play this well, he can help take the Kings to the next level. They have plenty of young talent, and Hield provides plenty of scoring.
Buddy Hield hasn’t been talked about much this year. He has turned into one of the best three-point shooters in the league. It is scary what he can do if he finds a rhythm, and it looks like he may have found his rhythm like he had at Oklahoma.
