NBA Rumors: Phoenix Suns could move on from Igor Kokoskov?
NBA Rumors: There are whispers that Igor Kokoskov could be one-and-done with the Phoenix Suns, as they could be in the market for a new head coach
Entering this season, not many – if any – expected the Phoenix Suns to compete for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. At the same rate, though, not have the worst record in the NBA with just 20 games remaining in the season.
For the lack of better words, the Suns have vastly underperformed this season. For a team with a pretty talented young roster, that headlines Devin Booker, T.J. Warren and Deandre Ayton, the fact that this team has only managed to win 12 games thus far this season leaves us more questions than answers about their future.
So much so, that there is reportedly a growing hot seat under first-year head coach Igor Kokoskov. At least that’s what Arizona Sports reporter John Gambadoro is hearing.

"I do think that this could be it for Igor. I do believe that this could be the last game."
Those remarks were made after a day after the team had lost to the Hawks, which marked a putrid 17-game losing-streak (and 24 of their last 26)
Somehow, they managed to buck the trend against the Heat Monday night, who have plenty of questions of their own.
Should the Suns move forward with firing Kokoskov, it would be quite surprising. It’s not every year that we see a team fire a head coach after just one season. Patience has worn thin over the last few years in the NBA, especially with head coaches, but most teams give more than just one season.
If a firing would take place, you’d have to assume that there is some serious disconnect between the coach, players and front office.
It would be interesting to see how Phoenix would target as his replacement in such event. Even though they’ve been one of the most underwhelming teams in recent history, it could make for an interesting market. Who wouldn’t want a shot to coach Booker, Ayton and likely another top 3 pick?
