2. Darius Garland, Vanderbilt
It’s going to be interesting to see where Darius Garland ultimately gets drafted in a couple months. He will have only played five games in college, but did impress during his short stint with the Commodores. He has elected to declare for the NBA after he sustained a meniscus injury that would likely have ended his season anyway.
Simply put, he’s going to focus on the next level moving forward and has already signed an agent. Nevertheless, during his short sample size he averaged 16 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Garland may not jump off the screen like the top prospects in this draft, but he’s a good shooter – he shot 48 percent from 3-point range during the five games he participated in with Vandy. Garland could be a top 10 pick, but it’s really difficult predicting until we get closer to the draft.
