Is it surprising that Kentucky has another standout freshman that is projected to be a lottery pick? Keldon Johnson is this year’s UK freshman standout. He has had an incredible freshman season and helped Kentucky get a No. 2 seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament.

Johnson has shown a great ability to score and rebound as a guard. The 6-foot-6 guard is averaging 5.8 rebounds to go along with his 13.4 points. Johnson has great athleticism that should translate well to the next level. His athleticism helps him be a great finisher around the rim. His outside shooting has improved greatly but is still secondary to his amazing finishing ability.

Kentucky also has PJ Washington to help them on the offensive end. The sophomore forward has improved greatly this season and raised his draft stock significantly. Washington is averaging 14.8 points and 7.5 rebounds this season.

Washington has a great inside game, but his outside game is lacking. In the NBA, he will have to play inside, or he will have to extend his range. He has all the potential to be a good power forward in the NBA. He is athletic for his size which will help him at the next level.

Kentucky has great players every year. This year is no different. Keldon Johnson is another incredible freshman who will go in the lottery, and PJ Washington is a solid forward who will go in the first round as well.
