2019 NBA Draft: 20 prospects to watch during the NCAA Tournament
By Tobi Altizer
Markus Howard, Guard, Marquette (#81 Ranked Prospect)
The other standout guard in the Marquette-Murray State game is Markus Howard. Howard is one of the nation’s best scorers and his 25.0 points per game back that up. Howard averaged 20.4 points during his sophomore year last year and has only gotten better this year.
Howard has had several high scoring performances this season. He put up 45 in wins over Kansas State and Buffalo. He had 53 points in an overtime win against Creighton. Howard has scored 30+ in ten games this year.
Markus Howard may be the best scorer in the country when he is on, but he has been inconsistent at times during the season. He is an incredible shooter from 3-point range at 40.8 percent. He could provide an NBA team with some great scoring.
Markus Howard is only 5-foot-11 which hurts his draft stock a bit. He could be a good pick for an NBA team looking for a scorer off the bench. His matchup Thursday with Ja Morant will give him the stage to show how good he is.
