Tre Jones, Duke

I can only imagine how hard it is to play on this Duke squad. All of the starting freshmen for the Blue Devils were five star recruits coming out of high school with tons of potential, but like Reddish, Tre Jones hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype… Offensively anyways.

Offensively, Jones has been lackluster posting only a little over nine points per night, but that’s not the reason why the point guard is such a valuable asset to the number one team in the nation.

Averaging two steals per contest with the ability to be the driving force of the highly feared Duke transition, Jones isn’t the player that will stuff the stat sheet. However, he will give you 100 percent night in and out on both ends of the court, exceeding in defense.

This, unfortunately, isn’t good enough to stay among the draft classes’ elite.

In a scoring savvy NBA, most teams will look for a point guard to score the basketball while being the driving force to an offense, which is something that Jones showed promise of out of high school, but couldn’t deliver on the collegiate level to this point.

If Jones wants to resurrect his mid-first round draft stock, he needs to make sure he can dump in a few more points per game over the course of this tournament.
