NBA Draft 2019: Examining Tacko Fall’s impressive performance against Duke, and whether he will find his way onto an NBA roster next season
There was not a much more intriguing matchup than the one that took place Sunday night between two of the NCAA’s most unique college basketball players – Zion Williamson and Tacko Fall.
In the end, Zion and Duke prevailed to punch their ticket in the Sweet Sixteen, but it was Fall who made the lasting impression. Fall only played 25 minutes, but tallied 15 points, six boards and blocked three shots. He was a presence indeed and nearly pushed the scales in favor of Central Florida against a much more talented Blue Devils.
Question is, after his impressive performance against Duke, is there a future for Tacko Fall in the NBA?

At the moment, the senior center is not among the top prospects expected to enter the 2019 NBA Draft. In fact, up to this point, it would be somewhat surprising for Fall to be taken in the first-round of the draft.
With that said, I’d be extremely surprised if he wasn’t taken in the second-round, if nothing else as a flier.
There’s no question that the NBA has completely changed over the last few seasons, and that there is no longer room for a prototypical big in today’s game. In fact, if you play center in the NBA today, you either have to be an elite defender or have the ability to stretch the floor.
And even then, there’s no guarantee that you won’t get run off the floor against a team like the Golden State Warriors or Houston Rockets.
Standing at 7-foot-6 with a freakish 8-foot wingspan, there’s no question that the intrigue will be present for many NBA teams. Even in a league that is quickly shifting to a more perimeter-oriented game, I have a hard time believe that Tacko Fall won’t get a shot at making an NBA roster next season.
Tacko Fall is an extremely raw prospect, but there’s no question he’ll get a shot in the NBA. Whether he gets drafted is an entirely different question. Could he raise his stock even more in pre-draft workouts?
