Five non-Doncic or Young NBA rookies that have had underrated seasons in 2018-19

For the 2018-19 NBA season, there have been more than a handful of rookies that are set to turn in solid starts to their NBA careers. With that said, there have been two rookies that have stood out above the rest – and not many would argue with that.

If the NBA Rookie of the Year wasn’t Luka Doncic or Trae Young, there’d be some serious questioning going on. Both have been tremendous this season, possibly even better than advertised, and are worthy of coming away with the prestigious award.

Doncic appears to be the new face of the Dallas Mavericks and has the franchise excited for what the future holds. Young has paid off for the Atlanta Hawks, which now has a second building block to stick next to the excellent play of sophomore big John Collins.

However, other than those two, there have been a handful of other rookies that have quietly put together solid seasons for their ball clubs. Even though they haven’t garnered as much of the attention and headlines that Doncic and Young have received, they still have been posting quality numbers and have shown flashes of high potential.

Let’s take a look at five rookies – non named Doncic or Young – that have had underrated debut seasons in the NBA in 2018-19.
