NBA: 5 rookies who have had underrated seasons in 2018-19
Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis Grizzlies
Heading into the 2018 NBA Draft, there perhaps was no bigger question mark in the class than Jaren Jackson Jr., who ended up being fourth overall by the Memphis Grizzlies. And the risk has paid off the Grizzlies.
During his rookie season, Jackson has flashed an impressive skillset en route to averaging 14 points and five rebounds on 51 percent shooting from the field and 31 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’s given the Grizzlies hope for the future, even after moving Marc Gasol for pennies on the dollar at the NBA Trade Deadline.
The best part about Jackson is the fact that he’s only scratching the surface on the player that he can be moving forward. And if this is only the beginning for JJJ, the Grizzlies have to be ecstatic with the results.
