Los Angeles Lakers: 5 coaching candidates better than Ty Lue or Jason Kidd

If the Lakers would look at possibly adding an assistant from somewhere around the league, they should look no further than the Pat Riley/Erik Spoelstra coaching tree. It’s worked well in the past and the next assistant in line might be Juwan Howard.

Just last year, Howard interviewed for the for the Knicks job. They ultimately decided on another former Heat assistant, Dave Fizdale, but the fact that he got consideration suggests that he could be in line for a head coaching job soon.

Howard played with LeBron in Miami and is familiar with him. There’s no question that this is a move that LeBron would probably be onboard with. The big question is whether they believe Howard is worthy to move to the big chair.
