7. Keldon Johnson, Kentucky
Keldon Johnson has the most upside from any of Kentucky’s prospects, there’s no question about that. At 6-foot-6, he has excellent size for a guard and he showed just how explosive he can be with his NCAA Tournament opening performance.
Johnson dropped 25 points and six rebounds against Abilene Christian University. If there’s is one area of his game that clearly needs work, it’s his playmaking. No one would really argue with that assessment.
Johnson only averaged 1.5 assists per game this season, and with the talent that this Kentucky team has on its roster it’s really telling how much he struggles with that area off his game. Heck, anyone could probably accidentally get an assist with as much talent as the Wildcats have. Johnson needs to improve drastically in that department.
