20. Boston Celtics: Bruno Fernando, Maryland
A third first-round pick for a team like the Boston Celtics isn’t ideal, as it’s almost impossible for them to carry three rookies into the season, however for the sake of this exercise we have them taking a center with the 20th pick.
And there might not be a better center at this point in the draft than Bruno Fernando, who has proved to be an intimidating force during his time with Maryland. Averaging 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks per game, Fernando is a rim-protecting big that could find a role in today’s game.
With that said, I’d be extremely shocked if the Celtics made three first-round selections in this draft.
