4. Denver Nuggets
It is a wild time to be a Nuggets fan right now. Before the season started the Denver Nuggets weren’t expected to even make the playoffs and now they’re resting safe and secure in the 2 seed, even competing with the Warriors for the best record in the West.
The Nuggets do have star power in Nikola Jokic whose having a stellar season and has been breaking out incredibly quicker than predicted. Aside from Jokic the Nuggets don’t really have a lot of notable headline players which just goes to show that regardless of the names if you have a good working system you can be great.
The team is really clicking and is beating just about anybody they come across which is making Denver fans very excited for the postseason. One thing the Nuggets do not have going for them, however, is experience. This is a relatively young team and the franchise as a whole hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2012-13 season. While a lot of people are rooting for this blossoming team to go far, there are a great many who see this season as a fluke.
The Nuggets in order for them to have success in the playoffs have to understand that the majority of the teams there with them are frequent flyers in the endgame. Only time will tell if this miraculous season for Denver was just a one-hit-wonder, or if they’re really here to stay for years to come.
