NBA: Power ranking East playoff teams ahead of the post-season

8. Miami Heat

Although not guaranteed a playoff spot, the Miami Heat are within the last remaining fighting for the 8th seed. The Heat have been a playoff team since the days of their Big 3 in the early 2010s but have since fallen to the lower side of seeding.

The duo of Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside have played well and have been at the forefront of Miami basketball in recent years and, with Dwayne Wade nearing the end of his final season, they and the rest of the Heat might be extra motivated to make the playoffs in order to keep Wade suited up for a little while longer.

It’ll be a close call, but the Heat have the complete capability of wrapping up that last slot for postseason contention.
