The Playoff MVP
As these game become more important the more talented players separate their themselves further from the pack. In a NBA post-season, we can see a young budding star change his status from upcoming to legitimate star like last year in Donovan Mitchell and we can see a notable star player become legendary, like in 2016 with Kyrie Irving. The post-season is the biggest stage and the greatest players give their best performances.
That leaves the same question for every post-season as: who was the most valuable player to a teams playoff run? We have current MVP candidates like Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden, and Nikola Jokic all playing in the post-season for a chance to win a championship title. We also have former MVP’s like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant as well as Russell Westbrook vying for the opportunity to add to their Hall-of-Fame resume’s.
The elite players are expected to take their respective games to another level, but which of the elite players takes the team’s play to another level is usually the most decisive point.
