Five reasons why Jason Kidd is the the perfect coach for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers
After an embarrassing first season with LeBron James, which included missing the NBA Playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers elected to move on from Luke Walton. Now, in addition to looking for a new President of Basketball Operations (after Magic Johnson essentially dismissed himself), Los Angeles is tasked with the job of finding a new head coach too.
When it comes to finding the right head coaching candidate, the Lakers need to bring in an experienced coach that has made playoff runs before. And, perhaps most importantly, one that can get along with LeBron James.
Which is why no one candidate is better for this role than Jason Kidd.
No one is better for this role than Jason Kidd, and here are five reasons to hammer down his candidacy.
Kidd is a coach LeBron would respect
In 2011, Jason Kidd helped lead the Dallas Mavericks past LeBron James and the Miami Heat in the first season of the Big Three (and their first NBA Finals appearance). Additionally, Kidd has experience coaching in the NBA too.
He coached the Brooklyn Nets into the second-round of the NBA Playoffs in 2013-14, and then the Milwaukee Bucks on two occasions during his four-year tenure there.
Few former players can garner the level of respect from current NBA players that Jason Kidd can. Even LeBron can respect and admire Kidd’s knowledge of the game. Perhaps Kidd’s stints in Brooklyn and Milwaukee left much to be desired, but his style may be what works with LeBron.
