Los Angeles Lakers: 11 realistic stars to target heading into the summer
Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies (under contract)
Mike Conley Jr. is still under contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, but is a target that the Lakers could probably easily land, with probably a pick or two and a salary filler (based on the return they got on Marc Gasol at the NBA Trade Deadline), but is also a player that comes with a hefty remaining contract.
Conley is the team leader that would fit and help stabilize the team’s locker room while also being that difference-maker that LeBron could really use beside him. At just 31 years old, there is still some good basketball left in the career of Conley. This past season, he averaged 21 points and six assists on 36 percent shooting from 3-point range.
The biggest problem with making the move for Conley is the fact that he quite a bit of money left on his contract over the course of two years (with the possibility for early termination for the 2020-21 season).
