Los Angeles Lakers: 11 realistic stars to target heading into the summer
Jimmy Butler, Philadelphia 76ers (player-option)
In the unlikely scenario that Jimmy Butler actually tests the free agent market, there’s no question that the Lakers should try to secure a meeting with one of the best two-way players in the NBA right now.
After acquiring him in the middle of the season, though, you’d expect the Sixers to offer him the max money that they could – and it would be at least somewhat surprising for Butler to turn down the money. However, in the even that the Sixers lose in the first-round or have a disappointing playoff exit, there is a scenario where Butler sniffs around the league before he commits to re-signing in Philadelphia.
Don’t overlook the fact that Butler is somewhat of a throwback player and fits with the type of player that LeBron seeks. He’s a tough-nosed two-way player that really isn’t into playing games, and is all business. Butler and LeBron could be the perfect match.
