Kyrie Irving, Boston Celtics (player-option)

Kyrie Irving has a player-option for next season, but it would be largely surprising to see him opt into the final year of his contract with the Boston Celtics. That’s not to say that it would be surprising to see Kyrie re-sign with the Celtics, but that he will opt for testing his free agency market this summer.

And the way he’s been hinting at potentially breaking away from his promise to Celtics fans at the beginning of the season, he’s a potential option for the Lakers, as they enter free agency with enough money to land a max player. Of course, it won’t be easy. Kyrie has a great situation in Boston, and would take one heck of a sell from Magi-…err….LeBr-… or whoever the new GM and coach is in Los Angeles when free agency rolls around.

Kyrie reportedly reconciled with LeBron earlier this year, and it only made the whispers louder of a potential reunion this summer between the two stars from the 2016 NBA Finals, but it still feels like somewhat of an unlikely scenario. Still, considering his current situation and the fact that he’s a free agent, Kyrie is actually a viable option. There’s no question, if he really tests the free agency market, Kyrie will give the Lakers a meeting.
