In our latest NBA Mock Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers jump into the top 3 and De’Andre Hunter rises into the top 5
We might still be roughly two months away from the 2019 NBA Draft, but with every passing day we’re getting deeper and deeper into the thick of NBA Draft season. To make things a bit more interesting, we decided that in our most recent NBA Mock Draft to play the Tanktahon lottery three times before coming to a draft order.
Here were the results, followed by the start of our latest mock.
- Phoenix Suns
- Los Angeles Lakers
- New York Knicks
- Dallas Mavericks
- Cleveland Cavaliers
- Chicago Bulls
- Atlanta Hawks
- Washington Wizards
- New Orleans Pelicans
- Boston Celtics (via Grizzlies)
- Minnesota Timberwolves
- Charlotte Hornets
- Miami Heat
- Boston Celtics (via Kings)
No matter what the recent whispers may be, when push comes to shove I can’t envision the Phoenix Suns not taking Zion Williamson in the event that they win the draft lottery and earn the No. 1 overall pick.
Perhaps it would make the most sense for this team to add a point guard, which would be the better fit overall for what this team is building, but it would be outrageously criminal to pass on a generational talent like Zion. He has the potential to be one of the greatest players of all time, the type of ceiling we haven’t seen from a draft prospect since LeBron James entered the draft.
The Suns can’t afford to bypass that opportunity. With the amount of losing that the Suns have been doing over the last few years, Phoenix should just take the best player available and figure out the rest later. No questions asked.
