After losing Jimmy Butler during this past season, it would be smart for the Minnesota Timberwolves to begin to address the issues that the team has in the backcourt. With no real point guard prospects available at this point in the draft, the Wolves settle for an interesting guard prospect in Nickeil Alexander-Walker out of Virginia Tech.
NAW is a 6-foot-5 sharpshooting guard that could develop into a productive player for a team like the Wolves. He averaged 17 points, four rebounds and four assists on 47 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent shooting from 3-point range.
NAW likely won’t be asked to start right away for the Wolves, which would help his development as he enters the NBA, and he could work well next to Karl-Anthony Towns and whatever version we get of Andrew Wiggins next season.
