The Portland Trail Blazers are in the midst another great season, and are actually enjoying some post-season success – something that they haven’t experienced over the last two seasons. The question is, how could they find some internal improvement without spending so much money in doing so.
The answer to that question will always be drafting well, something that the Blazers have done recently. Portland has been one of the better drafting teams as of late, mostly by finding two big pieces of the franchise in Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. Question is, can they do it again to add a third player to their current dynamic duo?
One interesting potential fit is Cameron Johnson, who is one of the most NBA-ready players in the draft, but doesn’t carry the high ceiling as some of the other players in this class. Johnson averaged 17 points and six rebounds on 51 percent shooting from the field and 46 percent shooting from 3-point range this past season for North Carolina.
