Thanks to great decisions over the past couple of offseasons, the Nets don’t necessarily need to hit a home run in the NBA Draft in the late first-round. That was something we were constantly hearing just a couple years ago. Now, the Nets have all their assets and even have grown some of their own.
Adding a player like KZ Okpala out of Stanford could be an interesting move for this team moving forward. He’s not necessarily a player that is going to change the direction of the franchise, but this team has a knack of finding hidden gems and perhaps Okpala could be the next piece that begins to replace some of their players coming off the books.
At 6-foot-9, Okpala is a player that will likely be able to play multiple positions along the frontline, assuming he continues to fill into his frame. Okpala averaged 17 points, six rebounds and two assists on 37 percent from 3-point range. Okpala fits the mold of the modern wing in today’s game.
