Step 1: Get Oladipo healthy

The reason the Pacers were never considered as real threats in the East was almost solely due to the fact that their best player, Victor Oladipo, went down with a season-ending quad tear about halfway through the year.

Although the team played well and exceeded what we all expected with him sidelined, they’re going to need a healthy Oladipo going forward if they want to matchup with the other elite teams out East, like Milwaukee and Philly.

If he can get back to 100 percent and be the same player he was before the injury, Indiana has an All-NBA talent on both ends of the floor. He can provide what the team sorely lacked in the playoffs and that is a guy that can get you a bucket when the going gets tough.

Not only can a healthy Oladipo provide the scoring lift that the Pacers need but he’s also a decent passer and playmaker and could very well see some time at the point guard spot going forward, given that it’s currently the weakest position on the team (more on that in a bit).
