In the latest installment of our NBA Mock Draft, the New York Knicks fall out of the top 3 and Zion Williamson makes the Hawks a contender in the East

We might be in the thick of the 2019 NBA Playoffs, but that won’t stop the whispers and intrigue as we get closer to the 2019 NBA Draft. And we’re finally getting to the point where we can genuinely begin to get excited, mostly because the NBA Draft Lottery is less than a week away.

In honor of it, I decided to use the Tankathon draft simulator just once. Which brought upon some interesting results. In short, the Atlanta Hawks won the lottery, the Memphis Grizzlies jumped to No. 2 and the New York Knicks fell out of the top 3 entirely.

Let’s get to this week’s mock draft.

In this edition of our mock draft, the Hawks landed the No.1 overall pick and wasted no time in getting their selection in. The Hawks add Zion Williamson to their young core of Trae Young and John Collins. Like he’d be on any team, he’s the perfect fit in the lineup.

Young is coming off one of the better rookie seasons in recent history and is in the conversation to potentially win the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award. Zion would not only sell out the arena from opening night, but he’d help make one of the most interesting young trios in the Eastern Conference.
