If the Magic were the biggest surprise in the NBA this season, the Brooklyn Nets would qualify as surprise 1A. The Nets also made their illustrious return to the playoffs this season, behind career years from D’Angelo Russell, Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie. They may not have been ready to take down the Sixers in the playoffs this season, but they proved that they’re well on their way to being real players in the not-so-distant future.

Adding another young talented big in Brandon Clarke could go a long way in this team taking another step in their progression next season. Clarke is by no means a finished product as a prospect but is one of the most athletic specimens from this class and a defensive difference maker.

This wouldn’t be considered a “sexy” move for the Nets, but could certainly be one that pays off dividends in a few years.
