Zion Williamson in New York could be the start of something special

The New York Knicks landing the No. 1 overall pick and winning the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery, and then drafting Zion Williamson, could be the start of something special
Today is the day that NBA fans and a lucky franchise owner have been waiting for all season. Today is the NBA Draft lottery or most importantly the day we find out where Duke basketball sensation Zion Williamson will play next season.
The New York Knicks have been at the bottom of the league standings for years. Now, after finally finishing with the worst record in the NBA, we’re going to find out if all that losing was worth it. The Philadelphia 76ers have built the start of something special by losing as many games as possible to acquire top picks like Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons in the NBA Draft.
The Cleveland Cavaliers lost their way into getting LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, several NBA Final appearances and a championship. Now the Knicks are trying to do the same.

Today, for the first time in a long time, Knicks fans are hopefully optimistic about the team’s future because Williamson will likely be a franchise changing player and the Knicks have a good chance of drafting him if everything goes right tonight.
If the Knicks land the No. 1 pick, the team would have a centerpiece to build around instead of having to build a contender from scratch or hope that Kevin Durant or Irving take a chance in New York.
The good news for Knicks fans is that the Knicks have a 52.1 percent chance of landing a top 4 pick. The bad news is that the Knicks only have a 14 percent chance of landing the No. 1 pick in the draft, which is the same odds they share with the Cavaliers and the Phoenix Suns.
For Zion, tonight is really all about him. This is his moment and the Knicks or whatever team who drafts him would be lucky to have him. The Knicks landing Zion could be the start of something special if James Dolan doesn’t screw it up.
But the first step in making all that come to fruition begins with winning the NBA Draft Lottery. Can the Knicks get the lucky bounce?
