Phoenix Suns: 5 offseason moves to expedite the rebuild

Change the timeline of the franchise 

The first move that must be made is changing the course of the team’s timeline. Unfortunately, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton‘s timelines don’t match up with each other. I believe in time they can be very good together, but that would take at least a couple of seasons where Ayton develops into a higher caliber NBA player.

To be a competitive team you keep the two together but for championships, Ayton must be moved. So in that case, my first move is to make a major trade.

The trade that makes the most sense is to try to acquire a more established emerging star like Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns played with Booker and they have a great friendship. They were a part of the same draft class and their NBA timelines match up seamlessly.

Of course, in order for all this to come to fruition, they would need the Wolves to actually want to trade Towns. Something that might not be in the cards at all this offseason. However, in the event that something major changes, here’s how a trade between the two teams could look like:
