Retain supporting pieces

The last move to cement the 2019-20 Phoenix Suns would be to retain a couple of their more talented guards to strengthen their bench, bring back a young prospect for further development, and bring in a few notable Arizona alumni’s to the organization.

A move that has to be made is in strengthening the connection between the Phoenix Suns legacy and the community of Phoenix. A way to do this while still improving the entire basketball franchise is to bring in notable successful members. To accomplish that, perhaps former coach Jeff Hornacek could be brought back, as well as former Sun Channing Frye.

In addition to those moves, the Suns could bring back Jamal Crawford and Tyler Johnson. Keeping Johnson and Crawford as part of the Suns’ bench could give this team a very effective and consistently productive backcourt bench play.

If the Suns could make any combination of these moves, or even every last one of them, there’s no question this team would be a playoff team in 2019-20 with an opportunity to improve every year moving forward.

Now that my job here is done as President of Basketball Operations for the Phoenix Suns, we can continue to enjoy NBA Basketball.
