Outside of a consensus top three, the 2019 NBA Draft board looks uncertain. Which boom-or-bust prospects could find themselves in the lottery?

After the madness of last week’s NBA Draft Lottery and with the draft combine complete, the 2019 NBA Draft is starting to take shape. There are some near certainties on the board – Zion Williamson will be the No. 1 overall pick, Ja Morant and RJ Barrett will round out the top three, the San Antonio Spurs will find a steal that NBA fans have never heard of and the New York Knicks will somehow leave their fans miserable.

Some things, however, are less certain. The consensus seems to be that the quality drops off steeply after the top three, and that means the lottery could be full of risk-versus-reward selections.

In the early mock drafts and analysis, four prospects stand out in the lottery as boom-or-bust picks. With low ceilings and high floors, the teams that select them will be crossing their fingers and hoping they get the best-case scenario.

With that in mind, we’ll be looking at all four players, where they might land on draft night, and what makes their potential so volatile.
