The Memphis Grizzlies are set for the future

It was a surprise to see Memphis land the No. 2 pick and now they seem pretty set for the future.

They already have Jaren Jackson Jr who had a terrific rookie season and showed flashes of stardom on both ends of the floor and now it’s looking like they’re going to take Ja Morant with the second pick which gives them their point guard of the future and creates a scary duo for years to come.

They still have the veteran point guard and fan favorite, Mike Conley who could be traded for some pretty decent assets in return or, alternatively, Memphis could choose to hang on to him, at least until the trade deadline so he can serve as a leader for this young group as well as a sort of mentor for Morant.

Every year there are teams that emerge from the NBA draft lottery disappointed but this year, things were more unpredictable and uncertain than ever. And with the way the lottery system works now, it’s not crazy to assume that this could be the new norm going forward!

What are your thoughts on the new draft lottery system and what are your biggest takeaways from this year’s lottery?
