Sacramento Kings: 5 free agents to help reach the next level
By Ben Bundy
4. Khris Middleton
Khris Middleton falls into the same category as Horford. He’s a player Sacramento could definitely use, but one who has an option to opt into another year of his current contract. If for whatever reason Middleton decides to potentially step away from the Milwaukee Bucks and test the free agent market though, the Kings should do everything they can to lore him to town.
Middleton would give the team more shooting from the perimeter, as well as someone who can create his own shot when needed. Along with his solid offensive game, Middleton brings something that every relevant team needs in today’s game: a good, athletic perimeter defender.
While he’s not known as one of the best defensive forwards in the league, he is more than capable of holding his own. This is necessary in a league where four of the best five players are all small forwards. He gives you a guy who isn’t a liability on either side of the ball.
Unlike Horford, who is already 32 years old, if the Kings were to sign Middleton, he’s only 27 and would be a key piece for the team for years to come.
