Sacramento Kings: 5 free agents to help reach the next level
By Ben Bundy
3. Tobias Harris
Tobias Harris’ stint with the Philadelphia 76er’s could be described as slightly disappointing. This is saying something considering he put up 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists per game last year. This is just a testament to both what Harris is capable of, and why he needs to try his luck on a new team.
At times last season, Harris just didn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the stacked 76ers team. He is the exact type of player who would benefit from going to a team like the Kings, who don’t have a premier star yet. He would be able to thrive in a system where he isn’t overshadowed by the likes of Ben SImmons, Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid.
Along with that, he would give Sacramento versatility. Harris can play both forward positions, which would allow the team to play with either a big or small lineup. He is a solid rebounder and a strong body to defend in the paint. On offense, he can play anywhere from the three-point line to the low block.
Harris has also played with five different teams in his eight year career. He knows how to come into a system and do his job. He’s the perfect player if Sacramento wants to bring in a veteran presence to play alongside their young core, and not overshadow them.
