Sacramento Kings: 5 free agents to help reach the next level
By Ben Bundy
1. Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler is by far the biggest name on this list, and he sits at number one for obvious reasons. If he were to decide to leave the 76ers and test free agency, which many think will happen, then he will be coveted by most teams who can afford him.
The Kings make sense for a few reasons. Firstly, the Kings would become Jimmy’s team. While with the Chicago Bulls it was clear that Butler was the focal point, but then he spent time with both the Minnesota Timberwolves and 76ers. On those teams, he was just one of a few different all-stars. There is a good chance the Kings could tempt Butler with the chance to be the main guy on a team full of young talent.
Secondly, he gives Sacramento consistency both on offense and defense. Butler is a more than capable offensive player, who consistently scores over 20 points per game. He is someone who can work with and without the ball. On defense he is just as capable, often being considered one of the best two-way forwards in the league.
Butler is the biggest longshot on this list, but that comes with anyone who is a s talented as he is. Any one of the guys listed would likely be enough to vault the Kings into the playoffs next season, but Butler makes them a much tougher matchup.
