Dallas Mavericks: 5 free agents to help reach the next level

The Dallas Mavericks have arguably as bright a future as any team in the NBA. With two young stars already to build around, here are five free agents who could make the team a contender next season.
The Dallas Mavericks are facing a unique situation. The legend and face of the team’s franchise, Dirk Nowitzki, has decided it is time to call it quits but it already looks like the next legend of the franchise has arrived.
Luka Doncic had one of the best rookie seasons in recent years and has already given Mavericks’ fans a reason to be excited about the future. Along with Doncic, a last season trade with the New York Knicks brought Kristaps Porzingis to Dallas. Unfortunately, Porzingis missed the entire 2018-19 season due to a torn ACL.
Porzingis is a restricted free agent in the upcoming offseason, but the Mavericks have made it clear they want to bring him back for the foreseeable future. Even with this move, Dallas would still have enough cap room to go after another star player.
