1. Kemba Walker
Honestly, you can’t really go wrong with Kemba Walker or Butler. The reason Kemba is number one here is simply due to the fact that he can run the offense alongside Doncic. Much like Russell, Walker would bring a certain swagger and confidence that would fit nicely with Doncic’s confidence. He would also allow Doncic to be more creative by giving Doncic someone who could help take the defensive focus off of him.
Along with that, Walker is someone who can score in a multitude of ways. He’s a great playmaker and shot creator who would still likely find ways to get his shots up if he wasn’t the primary ball handler. He and Doncic would each feed off of the other offensively. Plus, having two lethal scorers running things would free up shots for everyone else on the team, including Porzingis.
Walker is also someone who has spent his entire career so far with the Charlotte Hornets, and has had likely playoff success. Putting him with a team full of young and motivated players would make this a very dangerous team to face in the postseason, which is somewhere this team would likely get by signing Walker.
The Dallas Mavericks are a team who, when healthy, would already be dangerous. If they can lore one of these guys to Dallas then they become a team who would likely be in the postseason for the next few years to come.
