NBA Rumors: The Brooklyn Nets are a sleeper team that could come in and steal Kyrie Irving away from other top suitors in free agency this summer

Kyrie Irving is one free agent this summer that could potentially change the landscape of the NBA, depending on what he decides to do when he opts out of the final year of his contract with the Boston Celtics.

And even though he hasn’t really said much recently on the issue, there is a growing sense that he is one free agent that is almost expected to leave his current team this summer. And while the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks are the two teams that have been connected to Kyrie over the last few weeks, there is another team that could jump in and steal Kyrie away from Boston, LA and New York.

According to Anthony Puccio of SNY, there is mutual interest between the Brooklyn Nets and Kyrie ahead of free agency. Which adds another team to the list of potential landing spots for Kyrie in the event that he would leave the Celtics this summer.

You can add the Nets to the list of the Lakers and Knicks, in addition to the Celtics, as teams who will be eyeing Kyrie in July. The Nets are an interesting landing spot for Kyrie, or really any big-name free agent this summer.

While they also have their own big decision to make on D’Angelo Russell, who is a restricted free agent this summer, the Nets have to be considered one of the most intriguing landing spots for any player this offseason.

Brooklyn impressively made the postseason this year, something that no one really expected to happen and have to be considered one of the most well-run organizations currently in the Eastern Conference.

Even though they don’t have two max slots, they could sign one max player this year and try to build around him moving forward.

Signing a player like Kyrie could get them in the mix for a player like Anthony Davis too. If they could find the right trade pieces, why wouldn’t AD want to make the move to Brooklyn and possibly team up with Kyrie?

The Brooklyn Nets are on the come up, and signing Kyrie Irving could be the cherry on top to their expedited rebuild over the last few years.
