NBA Trade Rumors: In an effort to improve the roster, the Houston Rockets are reportedly gauging the trade interest from around the league on Clint Capela

From all indications, it’s pretty safe to say that the Houston Rockets took somewhat of a step back this season in falling in six games to the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

And that’s not something that Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is going to be fine with. It’s not in his DNA. Because of that, it’s no surprise to see ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski report that Morey is exploring ways to improve the roster.

Marc Stein adds that Clint Capela is one name to keep an eye on, as the team has begun to gauge the trade interest on the big man.

The Rockets are always one team to watch in the offseason. They’ve made big moves in the past and won’t shy away from making another blockbuster deal if it involves the Rockets improving their chances at winning a championship.

With that said, I’m not really sure if there’s a deal out there to be made that would involve this team making that much of a step forward. Even if they wanted to entertain the idea of trading Paul, I’m not sure if there are many teams out there willing to take on his contract.

Nevertheless, the Rockets are definitely a team to keep an eye on this summer. Morey is not going to sit idly by as other Western Conference teams make huge improvements – which could certainly happen with the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers over the course of the next couple of months.

If you didn’t believe it already, this report is the latest indication that this summer could be one of the most entertaining offseasons in recent history. And the Rockets are going to be involved one way or another.
