The Los Angeles Clippers were arguably the most surprising team of last season. They not only made the playoffs in the deep Western Conference but took the defending champions to a six-game series. With a talented roster and plenty of cap space, here are five free agents who will make the Clippers a championship contender next season.

In early February, the Los Angeles Clippers traded arguably their best player, Tobias Harris, to the Philadelphia 76ers. After the trade, it appeared the Clippers were looking towards the future. With an estimated $56 million in cap space and a roster of talented young players and veterans, it’s easy to see why Los Angeles has its eyes on the future.

After the trade, the Clippers won enough games to clinch the 8th seed in the playoffs. In a very deep Western Conference, many were surprised the Clippers were the team representing Los Angeles in the postseason.

The Clippers were matched up with the defending champion Golden State Warriors, and many thought the series would be a sweep. To everyone’s surprise, Los Angeles took the Warriors to six games, and let the rest of the league know they are a team to look out for in the future.

Turns out Clippers fans, and the rest of the league, won’t have to wait long to see the Clippers competing for a title. If Los Angeles can land one, or even two, of these free agents they will be making a championship run next season.
