At this point in the draft, it’s difficult to find top tier talent that could eventually blossom into star power. In fact, you can make the case that after the top 8 the NBA Draft is pretty much a crapshoot. Nevertheless, at 12, there’s still one uber talented player still on the board.
Kevin Porter Jr. has top 10 talent, but because he was suspended at USC for personal conduct, there are some questions about him as a prospect as he makes the jump to the next level. That’s probably the only reason why he’s falling outside the top 10.
If the Charlotte Hornets are willing to roll the dice and trust their leadership, adding a player as talented as KPJ at No. 12 would be a huge win.
