There’s a good chance that the Los Angeles Lakers don’t even make this pick at No. 4, or perhaps make it for another team, but if they do have to make a pick here, I believe they can’t do any wrong by taking a player like Darius Garland.

Had he played his entire freshman season, there’s a chance that he could’ve jumped into the top 3 – perhaps similarly to the type of jump that we saw Ja Morant make this season. Nevertheless, Garland has risen over the last few weeks and will continue to do so (assuming his health checks out).

When healthy, he was one of the most electric point guards in college, and the hope is that he could bring that type of electricity to a team that desperately needs it. Even with Lonzo Ball on the roster, Garland is the type of player that could play off guard too. Or, perhaps the Lakers move Ball in a bigger move and retain this pick. Either way, Garland makes a lot of sense to the Lakers.
