Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers are another potential fit, as they could be in the market for a new starting point guard as Darren Collison and Cory Joseph will both hit free agency this summer. While Victor Oladipo could play the lead guard, the team will likely address the position in free agency.
Assuming that they’ll probably target Kemba Walker first, Ricky Rubio could be a fallback option for the Pacers. He’s cheaper and could be more of a stopgap until they find the right starter for the future.
While he might not be the shooter that would fit perfectly, Rubio is a solid player that could come in and help this team not miss a beat from this past season. Rubio is a true professional and would work well this team’s current core of Oladipo, Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner. If the Pacers are looking for a cheaper option to address their point guard vacancy, Rubio might be the move.
