With an interesting young core in Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis and money to spend in free agency this summer, the Dallas Mavericks should be a team to watch this offseason. And one area that they could choose to address in the point guard position.

While they could be a player when it comes to the pursuit of Kemba Walker, Ricky Rubio could be another option in the event that they’re looking for an above average starting point guard after striking out on some of the bigger names.

The Mavs will have somewhere around $30 million in cap space this summer and could spend reel in two quality players if they wanted, which could include Rubio. It’s unlikely for Dallas to tie up big money in a player like Rubio, but there’s no question that he’d be an asset to this young Mavs team this upcoming season.
